      I was told that I was a caricature of masculinity. This involves a belief that masculinity is real enough to be counterfeited.

      If it's a construct how can it be parodied? The parody is as constructed as the so-called real artifact, surely.

      "Scream" was a parody of horror films, themselves constructs. Parodies in fact work by *exposing* the construction, often absurd.
