The reality of political discourse in this country is really making it difficult to enforce profanity rules in online commenting.
What I tell commenters is "you're smart people, you can work within these guidelines."

But, gut level, it does feel unfair that they can't quote Roger Stone in an article about his comments.

Can both be true? "We trust you to be smart & responsible" is more effective than "doing x, y, or z will get you BANNED".
