there are of course statements of fact that can be weakened by an "i think." the earth is round, for example.

but in plenty of cases it indicates that you don't feel yourself to be the sole arbiter of truth and are open to other perspectives.

Not to mention, I know plenty of women who use "I think" and aren't at all open to others perspectives. My sis uses "I think".
