It's wonderful if the suicide rate is going down, but it shouldn't be part of the argument about whether we deserve rights or not.
Of course suicide rate decrease is important to counter bigots who claim queerness is disordered and refer to suicides as evidence.

I just don't like it as a basis for extending rights which are deserved regardless of whether people who don't have them off themselves.
