Lived in Knoxville for 3 years. In TN, many parents' choice is between supporting public school and educating their children.

Of course this is devastating to the kids whose parents can't afford private school, but if it was my child, I can't say what I'd do.

yeah, there are morally correct actions that are difficult take. Doesn't make the choice any less moral

I think one is morally obliged to invest help those in need, and not pay for lifeboats. seems simple to me

Some folks work to help others in impoverished areas- expecting them to also leave their kids uneducated is too much bravery.

yeah, I think I agree with this. and lord knows I'm not especially brave, but I do think it's an issue of bravery

My wife and I discussed sending our kids to public school while basically homeschooling them alongside as a possibility if we had them there
