      Lived in Knoxville for 3 years. In TN, many parents' choice is between supporting public school and educating their children.

      Of course this is devastating to the kids whose parents can't afford private school, but if it was my child, I can't say what I'd do.

      I think one is morally obliged to invest help those in need, and not pay for lifeboats. seems simple to me

      Some folks work to help others in impoverished areas- expecting them to also leave their kids uneducated is too much bravery.
