Saying once again, people talking about banning conversion therapy, we need to be careful not to create new criminalisation and more powers for the carceral state.

I'm with you. Having non-state professional organizations withhold some sort of membership/certification/accreditation, that's a much more comfortable fit with my politics.
Of course that can shade in to state actions sometimes, like if you need some sort of certification to practice legally, which I'm against as well to an extent but depending on the specifics might or might not care in this instance.
