I could make a lot of money being the trans-skeptical trans guy. If there's ever evidence to support a high detransition rate centered on AFABs I will write the stories and cash the checks.

But, the evidence just isn't there. What evidence we do have suggests desistance, detransition, and regret is LESS COMMON among AFABs than AMABs who transition.

So, being intellectually honest, I simply can't choose evidence free scaremongering (even in the careful, Singal-esque vein of raising concerns), over the actual evidence, even if that evidence is incomplete and imperfect.
