"Life experience" is a brutal and punishing demand to put on trans women (by design), but I haven't seen people talk about how meaningless and weird it can seem as a requirement for trans men.

Hmm. I'm not sure there is one, if you mean "is there a particular need or problem facing trans men"? There's a huge issue for trans women when docs require real life experience to access hormones, which may mean subjecting themselves to violence depending on where they live.
