"We'll just donate them to other countries" is a better option than a stockpile, but counterpoint, we aren't the only country in the world that can afford vaccines right now, and we *are* getting more than a lion's share of them.

I don't know if I think this, but: Insofar as we've got the worst rates in the world, we've been politico-culturally incapable of controlling it w shutdowns/masks/etc, and our pop is exporting it to other places constantly, prioritizing us might make sense on a global level?

I think this is the best argument you can possibly make for prioritizing us, but ordering extra vaccines isn't even prioritizing us any more.
