Probably no one's following my internal debate over "virilismia" vs "transandrophobia" but I've decided to use virilismia for negative attitudes towards masculinization itself and transandrophobia for attitudes/arguments that feminize us.

If some day there's a cultural shift that brings one of these words (or some unknown future word) into widespread use for both I'll adapt and go with that, but for now that distinction feels useful to me and no one uses either so why not.

An example of transandrophobia: "You don't see trans MEN going around playing men's sports or insisting on using men's bathrooms." An example of virilismia: "Testosterone will RUIN your beautiful female body."

Replying to @e_urq

Yep- and yet transphobes often act as if we prefer to use women's facilities and play women's sports, and they get away with it because we're invisible enough that no one knows.
