Look, I don't give a damn about sports, never have. I am probably the least athletic human on the planet. But I keep seeing these transphobes casually say that trans men can't compete against cis men and I am furious.
He qualified to be in an Olympic trial... that's what an Olympic qualifier is. See, in sports, everyone wants to go to the Olympics. But not everyone can! So they have these competitions to decide who qualifies. And anyone who qualifies is an Olympic level athlete. Get it?

No trans woman has ever made it to that level- they haven't qualified to compete in the Olympics. Chris Mosier did. So, he's the most accomplished trans athlete, a trans man, who beat cis men in order to qualify.

An Olympic qualifier is someone who has qualified to compete. Chris did not qualify he competed in an Olympic trial in an attempt to qualify for the Olympic team. There were over 200 competitors that competed in this Olympic trial event. Chris did not finish due to injury.
