      I'm not certain, but I think if femme trans men (who wear makeup/dresses etc) had any kind of larger cultural visibility they'd get a ton of this. They already do inside the transmasc community, which tells me the anti-femme attitudes can very easily find them as a target.

      i'm trans masc and femme. an avatar that reads as a gay man in makeup cishet men will immediately start w/homophobic attacks. honestly, i think the problem of visibility is that most of us get read as amab trans fem. i know i do.

      Oh yeah, this is a big thing- trans men being targeted/attacked because we're mistaken for trans women... I left it out bc it's definitely transphobia more so than homophobia... except to the extent that "being femme in public" is homophobia too.
