Reckon I'll do a micro thread about ways homophobia is directed at trans men. 1. As below, anti-femme attitudes target trans men who don't present masc. 2. Anti-lesbian attitudes among trans men make it hard for edge cases or those w/ a lesbian history to feel accepted.https://twitter.com/e_urq/status/1366732998285156356 …

3. Post-hrt trans male voices/presentations often read gay, they are subject to homophobia based on the assumption that they are cis gays. 4. "Why can't you 'just' be a butch lesbian?" 5. Turns out, no one actually likes butch lesbians or people who look like butch lesbians.

Funny aside, I know a trans man whom I originally thought was cis gay. Then I met his cis female partner and shrugged. And then years later I got into it with a bunch of FARTs online, he and I got into a dm side convo and he was like "you know I'm trans, right?" (cue lightbulb)

Yep- reading someone as gay is basically just cuing on mannerisms in a man that are more commonly found in women. And guess who, apart from cis gay men, often have some female-coded mannerisms?
