6. In a few parts of the world, South Africa in particular, trans men are subjected to corrective rape (rape with the goal of making someone a straight cis woman) alongside lesbian women.

When I came out to my husband he threatened me. He just said "No you are not" in a way that I knew it was dangerous to say anymore. Years later when I talked to him about it, it was because he was angry because me being trans meant he was Gay.

What's odd is, the homophobia that happened before I came out though I've heard of this happening to other trans men. But, when I was in school, people used to make fun of guys who dated me, saying it was "Gay" to date me, even though I looked like a woman.
