Keep reading the rest of the thread? But in a nutshell, laws to make it a criminal act to provide puberty blockers or hormones to a trans youth could provide a template/precedent for laws criminalizing providing an abortion or birth control.

The link is that there's something in law called precedent. If a court upholds a law criminalizing a doctor providing evidence based treatment in one context it makes it easier to argue in court that they can criminalize a doctor providing treatment in another context.
