They cannot manage to wrap their heads around the fact that if they leave us alone they can basically ignore us forever and nothing much will happen to them
There are so darn few of us! Plus, we're generally content with being transgressive in a few particularly accepting cities or going stealth and becoming undetectable and not undermining the social order in any way.
