I think we, meaning trans men in particular and the larger transmasculine community to a lesser extent, really need to think and talk about how we view lesbians in general and cis butch lesbians in particular.

But this is valuing appearance over substance. But I get it. It makes it complicated because the 'look' is in-between masc and fem, and we eventually all transition thru that. There is no such thing as failure! I could write pages on this.
Insecure early transition is such a hard phase. I think there's more that could be done in general, perhaps by trans men who are through it spending time mentoring, to make it easier on the cohort of guys going through it.

As it is what I see is a lot of very young, very insecure lil fellas who are often really shitty and hard on each other, themselves, and on nonbinary people and butch women too.

I found that when I first went on line to research. The 'insecure' ones only concerned about - one thing- was just so childish seeming at my age. Not helpful at all.

Yes. Absolutely. 'Therapy' is fine but having mentors with experience is priceless. Something I did not have, at all.

The closest I got was trans women elders who took pity on me a few times and helped me with my shit in a loving but firm way. It helped, but it would have been so much better if there'd been trans men willing to play that role.
