Trying to convince trans people to live as (cis) gay people is a conversion practice. Sending a transmasc teenager to a therapist to make them "accept" that they're really a "confused lesbian" is conversion therapy. It's not pro-gay or feminist, it's just transphobic bullshit.

Is it ok to make sure first tho, and how much is ok? This is *not* a bad faith question. Being CIS (and straight) myself, I really try to understand and learn. Since I don't know any trans people Youtube and twitter are my learning tools.
I don't think it's a bad question to ask "How much questioning and making sure someone is really trans is okay." A good therapist (or informed consent provider) will ask "have you considered this? have you considered that?" But not try to answer/lead toward a particular outcome.

A less good therapist (or informed consent provider) may structure things so that the trans person has to reassure them that they don't have any doubts in order to move ahead.

And the least good therapist (or informed consent provider) will have one outcome they're expecting and not take in any information that contradicts it, however strongly.
