(2/2) i did wrong as it was explained out loud. it always made me feel very small and very scrutinized to the point that even as an adult i won’t try things just so i won’t fail at it. many of those things involve a lot of aggression as you’ve defined it here.
ugh the talking. the endless talking and explaining. the carefully-not-angry tone of voice and the endless talking. please just yell at me already!
And, I say this, but this is also absolutely my most common style with kids. I hated it but now I copy it. UGH!
i totally get that! i worked in childcare for a couple years and became overly aware of it after i had that realization.
i would’ve much rather been yelled at instead the majority of the time
