I've read a lot on transfemmes receiving aggression in childhood to suppress their femininity. I'm thinking of writing a thread on how trans men receive femininity to make us suppress our aggression: Does this resonate with anyone else/are you curious to hear this unpacked?

I was literally in therapy for that and at least some of it was framed in terms of "being more ladylike," so yes, absolutely

Definitely, I experienced this as well. So many times... and looking back I can see how much this impacted me later on, when I felt I wasn’t allowed to express what I wanted, tell off a longtime abusive partner etc. It certainly fucked met up a lot.

Stating the harm that trans men have been subjected to does not take away from what trans femme people have experienced. I'd so so far as to say that concern is a lingering effect of feminine socialization. The idea we can't take up space w/o someone suffering a loss.
