What I cherish about the lesbian community is that on the ground they've roundly rejected attempts to make exclusionary apps and online spaces.https://twitter.com/HerSocialApp/status/1362841372378734595 …

TERFs can claim real lesbians don't date trans women til they're blue in the face, but the truth is HER thrives while exclusionary spaces wither.

As it turns out, many cis lesbians do actually want to date trans women. Some don't- which is completely fine- but even then, most aren't looking to make a big weird stink about which of their friends or their friends' partners are allowed in which spaces.

It's honestly kind of mind blowing seeing this. I've always just noped the fuck away from anyone that might be a cis lesbian for fear of transphobia, being called predatory, etc so to see this support from Her is... well it doesn't fit into my schema

There are crappy individuals and bad dynamics in any community, but honestly lesbians are probably the most trans inclusive of any non-trans queer sub community.

However, there's a dynamic in the community where lesbians argue about purity. In the 90s/early 00s it was about not dating bi women, that evolved to "gold star" lesbians (who never had sex with a man). Dating/not dating trans women is the latest rlund of the purity wars.
