I share this concern. Most discrimination against trans men is based on misogyny. And not misogyny in a "sexism hurts men too" way, actually, just the normal kind.https://twitter.com/Valaquesse/status/1362418938240458752 …

Using transmisogyny solely to describe what trans women experience has an unintended effect of cutting off the discussion of misogyny against trans men at the knees. I've been mentally testing transandrophobia (from
@not_horses), but not sure yet if I think it's sufficient.2 replies 1 retweet 13 likesShow this thread -
Trans men are subject to misogyny bc transphobes believe sex can't change. Therefore trans men are women, and every sexist stereotype about women applies to us. The idea that we're puny, weak, emotionally fragile, crazy, irrational? All that's based in misogyny.

The belief that gender dysphoria is caused by social contagion "like self-cutting or eating disorders" is also based in misogyny against trans men.

In reality, cis men are subject to self-harm social contagion when they punch walls in rage or get alcohol poisoning in their frat house. But the common use of social contagion is for things women do. The prejudice is: Women alone have weak minds & are easily led into danger.

Trans men, aka "women" need patriarchal rad fem daddies to save us from oopsy daisy thinking we're men in that womanly way women do dumb things all the time.
