This tweet hit a nerve, way more than expected. There's a hunger for discussion of the specific issues trans men face. When possible I want to highlight those, not bc trans men have it worse (we don't) but bc others do a great job highlighting issues unique to trans women & NBs.https://twitter.com/e_urq/status/1361721308443250692 …

Funny-but-not-really story: One of the very last things to push me into recognizing I was trans was discomfort with trans butch women. My thought process went "Trans women can't be butch when the whole point is you wish you were a man but can't be... wait... am I trans?"

I don't think you implied it at all. What I heard was 'when X impacts cis women who identify as butch, I want to include them too'.

Its interesting right? Like, I'm bi and trans masc. I think (and also know anecdotally) there is a lot of overlap between my experiences and that of many cis butch lesbians. Trans and cis butch lesbians also have overlapping experiences and problems...

Anyway. The way I see it we have shared related issues. We all have similar problems with misogyny, misandry, transphobia, homo/biphobia. I forget where my train of thought was going. Something about solidarity. Idk. I need to read Stone Butch Blues.
