A rarely discussed issue that impacts trans men (and transmasculine medically transitioning NBs) is that, in the US, testosterone is a controlled medication because of its illegal use by cis men for doping.

and transfemme. hey did you know transfem and transmasc aren't synonyms for AGAB and using them like this is transphobic? trans women don't all identify as feminine, trans men don't all identify as masculine

Transmasculine in this context refers to the masculinizing effects of testosterone, so I'm honestly not really sure what you're talking about. AFAB NBs who don't want to be masculinized wouldn't take testsoterone.

yeah I figured you meant it that way testosterone isn't inherently masculinizing tho masculinity and femininity are arbitrary ideals and for some of us, testosterone could be "feminizing" or vice versa with estrogen like I'm a transmasc but I can tell you were referring to

Interesting. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree on what masculine/feminine means.

no, im telling you you repeated the transphobic idea that gender identity like transmasc or transfem are limited to AGAB, please don't talk down to me, I know what I'm talking about. it's wrong in the same way it's wrong to say people who were AFAB can't be men or AMAB/women.

like yeh it's a common mistake that everyone seems to be making but it's hardly an agree to disagree thing when it's the autonomy of people to not be misgendered you're talking about. pls just don't say transmasc or transfem if you mean AGAB it's invasive and unnecessary

some people don’t like AGAB either. It’s 100% agree to disagree because either way, at least one person is going to be upset by terminology. If you ask me, the context used here is most appropriate.

Yeah, I didn't want to get into an extended argument but I've heard strong objections to using AGAB when talking about NBs.

Some would say it’s just as invasive and unnecessary. “I know what I’m talking about”.... yeah.... they are talking about an opinion, of which many would disagree with just like they’re doing with your wording. It’s a whole conundrum.
