Again, I've tried to get my script covered. My insurance is good, and my state at the time required transition care to be covered, but I gave up in frustration after being given the runaround. We're lucky that T is relatively inexpensive, so self pay is possible for most.
i'm happy that medi-cal covers my meds. all I pay is $4 for needles every two months. i've also never had trouble getting my prescription refilled, even in one of the few red counties here. a universal federal insurance would help so many
Getting new prior auths at the beginning of the year is one of the worst parts of my job as a pharm tech. So many patients have their care interrupted by stupid fucking bureaucracy. I've got more than one patient buying one week of T at a time right now waiting for a PA from ins.
It's horrible to hear it, but I'm thankful for the information. My son wants to eventually start T, so it's good to know what to expect.
