FGM, unwanted pregnancy, period poverty, abortion, pay gap are things that happen exclusively to females and are explicit examples of misogyny. Sexual assaults can happen to anyone and are not explicit examples of misogyny.

Sorry, do you think the pay gap is biological and only happens to people with XX chromosomes or something? Trans women are affected by it too.

And FGM? Are you affected by that too? And fibroids, dying in childbirth, mastitis? And men who have successful careers before they decide they feel like being a woman? Do they have a glass ceiling or not?

Is the average woman in the UK affected by FGM? Like... No? You're just using FGM as a gotcha and nothing else, an 'aha, you're not affected by this!' as if all women are at risk of it so anyone who isn't can't be a woman.

Many women in the Uk are impacted by FGM. It is not a gotcha, nor is the impact of pregnancy & childbirth, fear of sexual harassment, being socialised as a girl and woman. Women are socialised to submit to men’s demands but in this matter we will not be silenced

Many women =/= the average woman. I'm pointing out that the fact any given woman doesn't face the full gamut of oppression aimed at women, does not mean that woman isn't a woman. Am I at risk of FGM? No. Neither is most of the UK. Sexual harassment? Yes. Pay gap? Yes.

I met a cis woman who'd been raised as a boy by an abusive parent once. Everyone in her life including her thought she was a boy until she started puberty. Pretty grim scenario Guess we can remove her woman badge because sexism between the age of 0 - 4 is the only important bit

Right? It doesn't matter what we say though Katy, there will *always* be a new goalpost, a new bit suddenly becoming integral to womanhood that we somehow can't reach, and if we do face it as well, or demonstrate that other women don't, the goalpost will move again, and again.

It's so blatantly clear they're desperately trying to find a definition for women that excludes all trans women, but in doing so they're prepared to throw as many cis women under the bus as necessary

To use a Simpsons reference- it's a No Homers Club. "But what about Homer Glumplich?" "We said no HomerS. One Homer is okay."
