Yeah but who cares what a person wants to call parts of their own body? That’s the whole point, if they’re more comfortable saying “chestfeeding” than breastfeeding why would that bother you? Do you always refer to every part of your body by it’s correct and full anatomical name?

But its not for just an individual. The current instance is an entire NHS Trust implementing this language as the status quo. It'd be like someone demanding we call it titfeeding because they find breasts offensive.

No, no one is implementing this language as the status quo. You've been misinformed by sensationalist anti-trans media. They're using it as an example of alternative language that trans men (and nonbinary people) who are pregnant might prefer. You intentionally were misled.

Except that is literally how its been reported internally and externally Evan, its as a replacement. I have no issue with opting for birth parent over mother to be inclusive but given breast feeding is already a gender neutral term it seems bizarre to even go there.

Can you show me a valid source that shows this is being implemented? I'll wait.

구글 검색 해보지 그래? Was what I was going to say. Then I noticed the press release I had read it from the trust and NHS Web page has mysteriously gone AWOL. https://www.bsuh.nhs.uk/maternity/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/2021/01/Gender-Inclusive-Language-in-Perinatal-Services-BSUH.pdf …

I don't understand the first part of your tweet and the pdf file you attached won't open.

The PDF has been deleted. That was the NHS link I read from originally. I said go Google, but even if you do find the said page on Google as shown on screengrab attached you can no longer access the document as they have backpedalled.pic.twitter.com/f1OcSs96zg

What you mean is that you only believe what you want to believe. Question this why did over 30 different news outlets of various politic leanings report it all the same way that it was a language change. Because hint: it was. Unsurprisingly backlash happened and big old backpedal

I'm sorry, but no. It was a fabricated story that was uncritically picked up and passed around without anyone checking- or perhaps caring- whether it was true.https://katelynburns.medium.com/no-that-british-hospital-didnt-ban-the-word-breastfeeding-c0ca19fde8b0 …
