There's a clever little trick behind the outrage over "chestfeeding" as a suggested alternative (not replacement) to breastfeeding, and the reason it works is, once again, say it with me: TRANSMASCULINE INVISIBILITY.

Of course, more advanced transphobes know that trans men are the people for whom "chestfeeding" applies, and they have their own baroque reasoning about why trans men are really poor lil deluded women in need of saviors to stop them being trans.

But for your average person "chestfeeding" only activates their prejudices bc they're NOT thinking of trans men, rather than bc they think trans men are women who need to be reminded of what sex they are.

I just refer to it as nursing a baby bc they're... they're nursing a baby. And it's neutral, applies to anyone doing it. Breast, chest, human nipple... whatever you append to -feeding, can all be replaced with just 'nursing'. Without the ability for terfs to to whatabout, even.

Same thing with any kind of assigned female reproductive care. Ppl on here acting like I’m speaking nonsense when I say trans ppl can get pregnant, need abortion access, need screening for ”female” cancers and health issues. They don’t even know we exist.

my first visit with my new doc, the staff knew I was trans but stumbled over themselves trying to ask what type of parts maintenance I'd need. I was mean and let them hang for a bit.
