It is possible to go on testosterone first, then decide what your gender identity is second. For some of us- including ordinary old binary trans men- it can be very clarifying.

Some folks have strong positive reactions to T. I was one of these, and if that's you, realize your moods will normalize/come back to Earth eventually. I've felt consistently better since I've been on T, but there was a 6 month 'pink cloud' period that wasn't representative.
