One of the most ironic things about gender critical culture is the passionate cry of "trans people are erasing lesbians!" all the while telling women who are solely attracted to other women (including trans women) that we're not actually lesbians.

The worst part of this, to lesbians and their admirers, is they're driving younger women who would otherwise identify as lesbian to call themselves other things, like "queer woman". TERFs are the real threat to lesbian identity bc so few wish to be identified with them.

I don't like this queer Vs lesbian frame. Both are equally valid labels.

I agree and I use them interchangeably. But I think what sucks here is that there are people who will avoid using lesbian so as not to be viewed as someone who is anti-trans or be constantly harassed by GC accounts. And that's not right.

Yeah, exactly. I'm not saying anyone "should" identify as a lesbian instead of queer- I'm saying there are people who would identify as lesbian but avoid it because TERFs have had some success in branding lesbian as a transphobic identity at core.
