As an amab person who was also 5'4 (now 5'3), the cultural friction was intense. In that space, I was constantly observing how short men were fucked up by that friction (all were), and how they coped. I don't envy trans men navigating what is still largely treated like a joke.

Like there's a weird way that, part of masculinity is that we always view men as subjects, agents, and we talk about their gendered experiences through a perspective of their personal agency. Which then makes it hard to parse out purely external forces, rubrics, judgments.
