I really hope those the center left who joined the right's hand-wringing over cancel culture are happy now that we had a violent attempt to overthrow the government and can't get rid of it's leaders because that would be cancelling.
Great, great job guys. You took a moderate position that trans people getting angry online and on college campuses were a major threat to our democracy that moderates could join the right in opposing, and just look how well that paid off.
NO ONE COULD HAVE FORESEEN this backfiring and empowering violent extremists so don't beat yourself up, guys. Also trans people still exist so best not to embrace us or act like you were wrong, you wouldn't want to accidentally encourage us to keep fighting for our rights.
