I obviously don't know Keira Bell. But I have seen quotes from her that say, in effect, transition doesn't work because it doesn't change one's body enough. Which is... interesting.https://twitter.com/Lux_fae/status/1356689157557530625 …

Exactly Her "I was around all these 6 ft tall men, I wasn't one of them" quote, really stuck by me It really seems she reached the limits of how far the transition could go, and then saw terf rhetoric saying "see? you 'll always be a woman" and clung to it

Actually, thinking on it, I think that is likely a reason why she is so mad at "trans women are women" and talking of trans women having periods getting pregnant I think shes jealous and angry at her perception of better transition results for trans femmes

That is definitely incredibly common. There’s a lot of bitterness about how transfems have more “options” than transmascs do.

I was unaware, but makes total sense In the same way transfemmes tend to be jealous that trans men tend to "pass" easier, or aren't the main focus of media attacks I'd love to hear more on this !

I think it's mostly about GRS. There are things that can be done to make our downstairs more tolerable, but we can't have both full function and full sensation.

Yeah. This is a big area of discussion and polarization among transmascs- many people who had or want phalloplasty feel that the community is overly negative about the results.

This is true, but there's also a lot of yes-phallo people taking "my dick IS my dick, phallo on ME would be a really inconvenient to get prosthetic" as "phallo bad" ...I wish there was more "treatment with prosthetics AS an end state" visibility; so much Discourse presents (cont)

Treatment as a "either you get phallo or meta eventually OR you aren't treating bottom dysphoria at all" with packing/penetration prosthetics EXCLUSIVELY as a temporary measure.

Good point! I don't currently pack but I'd like to get back to it. My main barrier was not having underwear I found affirming that allowed me to pack. I suspect that, with good underwear options, it would be a sufficient end point for me.
