The thing about sexual assault is that we don't treat it like a normal crime. If I say my car was once broken into and a GPS was stolen, I can feel confident that no one is going to instinctively doubt this, much less dig into my history looking for reasons to discredit me.
If I say I didn't bother calling the cops because it didn't seem worth it, no one would take that as evidence I never had a GPS stolen from my car. (I actually did- they broke windows and I wanted insurance to pay for em, but otherwise I wouldn't have.)
