Transphobes biggest political advantage is that millennia of sexism and decades of politically weaponized homophobia and transphobia mean that, to the average person, transphobia sounds like plain spoken common sense.

Trans people's biggest political advantage is that we're a harmless minority advocating for modest improvements to our quality of life. In other words, right is on our side. That's a HUGE advantage. I try to act in a way that allows good people to want to be on my side.

Doing so can be incredibly draining. You're pleading to be seen as a human being minute by minute, day by day. It SUCKS. That's why you need trans friends, allies, and affirming spaces, where you can recharge.
