1/ The shit I find most people struggle with in shooters is having a sense of space, a thing that kind of requires you to make a mental map of where everything is in your immediate vicinity without it necessarily being in your FOV. Getting over that hump will allow you to--

2/ be able to move and aim at the same time without missing a beat. This is especially useful in advanced movement shooters like Destiny or Apex where verticality is added into the mix. On the aiming front, it really depends on preference and input method.
