Maybe, but if that gives trans women a free pass to passively misgender trans men then you'd think it would be okay to talk about experiences of people who were perceived female as children. Trans women rightly understand that as attempts to passively misgender them.

(And, obviously, it's okay to talk about our own "experiences being perceived female as children," I just don't want to even say the very transphobic phrase that I'm obliquely referring to.)

I don't think TME is as bad as THAT phrase, but I think it's in the ballpark.
