I'm not going to disavow anything I've said. But in a polarized environment with constant attacks from each side, I understand why it's difficult to trust that someone with a different opinion could give them a fair hearing, and I don't blame anyone for feeling that way.
I might add, gently, that attacks against me and my community have been a lot harsher and more constant than anything I've said. I say it not to complain, but to encourage people to consider that it's possible to have strong opinons and still be able to fairly hear others out.
