Tbh even too many from various segments of the left dismissed the fascism of Trump et al. and attacked theorists, activists, etc. for pointing it out.
I think I'm still using "the left" in the way it was used 6-10 yrs ago (ie. rarely and only about people who weren't registered Democrats bc even progressive Dems were too conservative). I'm not sure what the most up to date term would be. Maybe socialists?

I strongly prefer socialists, although even then there are many who should be described as such, but whose failures in analysis and action are still serious.
