I don't recall him mentioning this. I even googled it to see if I missed it (as I know him from podcasts, haven't read interviews) and I didn't find any mentions. Was it all in newspaper interviews? Just curious, I'm a listener to Omnibus, I don't recall him saying this there
It's difficult to Google at the moment because of all the Bean Dad results gunking up the search results, and because it seems like he's taken down his personal website.
