Before I went on testosterone my emotions felt like they came from an alien who hated me. I would cry or become upset extremely easily. And there was a detached part of my mind there, thinking "this is such a weird overreaction, why is it happening?"https://twitter.com/KathrynBristow/status/1343899655390818306 …

There are people- trans men and NBs who find that T blunts them emotionally in a way they find unpleasant. That is completely valid. Not all trans people have this positive a reaction to HRT.

But for me? Before testosterone I felt like I spent all my energy trying to hold back these huge waves of emotion that did not represent me. T removed the need to hold myself back from acting crazy. It let me just be, just exist with emotions that felt normal and proportionate.

It should go without saying, but this has nothing to do with how women are. Many trans women report feeling numb and emotionless before HRT and have a similar feeling of rightness with estrogen- estrogen was poison for me. That doesn't mean it's poison.
