I think a lot of old school second wave feminists see the increasing numbers of young trans men as non-gender conforming women jumping ship. I think they feel that we may lose the category of women altogether, or it may become something different from what they grew up with. 3/

This is definitely where actual trans-exclusionary-radical-feminism diverges from modern transphobic bigotry. The old school TERF answer would be that the category of woman is not meaningful and should not exist, and trans women are harming the project of destroying it.

I'm quietly fascinated by the philosophical question "what is a woman/man" (and have no answers). When we say TWAW or TMAM it's a reference to practical day to day reality, not an attempt to say more, which I'm comfortable with while still wondering at the more.
