The thing that bothers me about this is how many kids sit in foster care knowing no one wants them because they aren’t a baby. I understand the desire for an infant but it’s heartbreaking every year that passes a child in the adoption system knows they are less & less desirable
Fostering teens is an amazing experience! More of our LGBTQ community should consider being a foster parent for a queer youth. It's brought my family so much deep joy.
I completely agree. Unfortunately I’m not financially able to do so. I just think it’s hurtful to say “if there are so many kids in the adoption system, why is international adoption market so popular” when the answer is that there ARE hundreds of thousands of kids in the foster-
Care system, who need loving families but who are ignored in favor of international or black market adoptions because people want infants specifically.
