Shying away from it is cowardly. It'si a core part of where Rowling situates herself in relation to trans people: Rowling feels threatened as much by the possibility of exploring her own gender identity as she does at the possibility of being a victim of abuse.

That was the part of her essay that stood out like a flashing neon sign, and it's like nobody wants to talk about it. She told the world that this is in part a panic about her own identity and people just ignored it.
YES! That part jumped out at me in a huge way and I thought I must have been seeing something that wasn't there because basically nobody mentioned it. Thank you for the retroactive validation.
Indeed. That blew my mind: what utter nonsense. 
I'm not the only person to transition later in life. If she truly felt that need, she'd do it (unless there were barriers: barriers that I have a great deal of difficulty imagining would exist for a wealthy person 
).

She's basically part of the IDW cult, like my free speech absolutist teacher who was subbed to Gad Saad and Jordan Peterson and dropped me on the 2nd day of class.
Does she feel threatened? What I hear in her essay, and in other comments from terfs talking about how all the butch women are transitioning, is what I heard in my dad's voice when he talked about how the white California culture he grew up in doesn't exist anymore. 1/
