What is it going to take for people to realize that bathroom predator panic is only half of the transphobe's worldview (and way less than half of Rowling's actual statement)?
The sexist belief that trans men are being tricked into transitioning (because we all know "girls" can't make decisions about their own lives) is a HUGE part of the transphobic narrative. We cannot allow it to fly under the radar or be presented as respectable and measured.
It also reflects a much more general belief that the only way anyone could ever choose to present as trans is if they were tricked, because being trans is fundamentally a bad thing to be. Only some of them will admit to believing that, but it's at the back of all their analyses.

No, people think minors can’t make these decisions because their brains aren’t fully formed yet. There is nothing sexist about it.
No. You've not been listening. Walk a mile in the shoes of a teenage girl. Then you'll understand why they transition. The "trick", sadly, is that it won't fully work to eliminate the misogyny. And any small gains come with such a price.
