I also believe some version of a "born this way" hypothesis is the most likely explanation of what we call transgender identity (including nonbinary identities), and look at being transgender as more a medical condition than anything else.

What I do not believe is some mythical, hypothesized wave of transition regret that has yet to materialize, in anecdotes in place of evidence, or in holding trans medical care to standards that are different from other evidence based medical or psychiatric care.

I am willing to update my understanding if and when the evidence changes, and not before. Which there's no known treatment for gender dysphoria other than transition, trans meds are well tolerated effective and safe, and regret is rare.
