That's a red herring. The Ds are a conservative party who don't share my basic values, much less fight for them. They are also, yes, less far right than the Republicans, though not less far right than the Republicans of my youth.
Everything wrong with the country now was predicted by the left in the 1980s. I remember being a kid and assuming CW must be right in thinking the far left was hysterical in their doom saying. Turned out they were right about everything. We never acknowledge it.
