Unisex public bathrooms have taught me a lot about culture. They're a great example of my own cultural conditioning being so strong that I had trouble believing it was cultural conditioning and not reality based. https://twitter.com/mosquito_chaser/status/1296264147454197760 …

I will never get the whole segregated bathroom thing. And I come from Italy (rather conservative country) and I have beliefs that are considered terfy by many. But bathrooms?! This is not to shame you for your cultural conditioning by the way. I understand.

I just don't get the whole thing and why this idea is so widespread. I have very often been in places, in Italy as well, where due to space there was just one bathroom, or two adjacent ones, one with the ladies symbol and the other with the gents.

Which is basically just a gender neutral bathroom, with the understanding that male and female will use different stalls which are exactly next to each other. So yeah.

True. The best I can say is that in a culture where multi-stall bathrooms are segregated the only time you'd see a man in a woman's room would be if he was trying to do something shady/creepy. So the belief that it's dangerous reinforces itself.
