Critics really need to understand how their relentless hostility has created this “echo chamber” dynamic. Trans people do care deeply about inquiry and hard questions. We have a better sense of what those are. But it can feel impossible when openness is twisted and weaponized.
I strongly agree. When I was starting my transition I had a lot of discomfort with the trans community, but as I've stuck around I've learned that the hard conversations do happen, they're just slowed a bit by a climate of (justified) fear.
